The Sunday Reset is key to staying on track with your goals and new habits. It is a fresh start for the week.

  1. Meal plan and meal prep. Having a plan for meals not only saves time but helps prevent impulsive choices during the week. If I know I have dinner ready at home and I’m starving, I’m not going to think about the drive-thru fast food places. Meal prepping can sound overwhelming. You can start small start with lunch. Gather some healthy meal ideas that you like and take a little bit of time on Sunday to put them together. Planning ahead reduces the stress and impulse eating that wreaks havoc on our week.
  2. Schedule your workouts and self care. These are appointments you make with yourself and you keep. You are the boss, there is no missing these appointments. Schedule your class or gym appointments a week ahead. Then everything else has to work around that. Same goes for self care. At least once a week you should have an appointment with yourself to take care of you.
  3. Do a quick clean up and put things away. Mess often equals stress. Research shows that physical clutter increases our stress levels. A quick clean up to put things away gives you a fresh start for the week.
  4. Set your goals for the week. This is a great time to look at your goals, assess what you have already accomplished, and set your priorities for the week. I like to list my top three for the week. If I focus on achieving those everything else seems a little easier.

I hope you give the Sunday reset a try. Tweak it and make it your own, find what works for you. The goal is to find a system that works for you to keep your focus on your goals.
